In Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district, a bamboo tower inspired by the Eiffel Tower has been built. This structure is the world’s tallest bamboo tower and has secured a place in the Golden Book of World Records. Inaugurated virtually by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on World Bamboo Day, the tower stands as a symbol of innovation and craftsmanship.

What Makes This Bamboo Tower Special?

This remarkable tower was built at a cost of ₹11 lakh by Bhavya Srishti Udyog. Designed as a tribute to the Eiffel Tower, the structure stands 140 feet tall and weighs 7,400 kg, all made from bamboo.

Recognized in the Golden Book of World Records

Located in the small village of Kathiya, this bamboo tower has earned recognition in the Golden Book of World Records as the tallest bamboo structure in the world. It was designed and built by Ganesh Verma, the founder of Bhavya Srishti Udyog, using advanced bamboo treatment techniques.

Bhavya Srishti Udyog’s Innovation in Bamboo Technology

Bhavya Srishti Udyog specializes in bamboo-based innovations and holds 15 patents in this field. The tower was constructed using vacuum pressure impregnation-treated, high-density polyethylene-coated bamboo, commonly known as Bahu-Balli. This special bamboo is lightweight yet durable, with an estimated lifespan of 25 years.

Chhattisgarh has extensive bamboo forests, covering 17% of its total forest area, and exports bamboo to neighboring states. The region’s abundant bamboo supply makes it a key player in the bamboo industry, with the potential to support local farmers and boost economic growth.
